How it runs

Two treatments come out of the same visit, because they sell to different people.

A design firm needs mood, surface and material, where the light can be constructed. An architecture firm needs form, site, and how the building meets the ground, where the light has to be plausible and timing is the only tool worth using. Interiors sit inside this lane for the same reason.

Every project is scouted before the shoot, because the hour matters more than the gear. Verticals stay vertical. Skies and shadows are the ones that were there. Retouching is kept light, correcting what distracts and nothing else.

Questions

How is architectural photography priced?

Per project, after a short call about scope. Half-day and full-day shoots, travel in the number. Drone, a dusk session and a short film are add-ons.

What can the firm use the images for?

Firm marketing, website, social and award submissions are included. Publication in third-party magazines and use by contractors or manufacturers is licensed separately, and the agreement says so in plain words.

How long until delivery?

About a week. Full-resolution finals plus a web set, on a private project page with the license terms next to them.

Do you travel?

Yes. Harrisonburg is home, and recent work runs from Wytheville to the northern Valley.
