A guest scrolling a grid of cabins near Massanutten decides in about a second whether to open yours. That decision is made on one photograph, at thumbnail size, against forty others showing the same mountain and the same hot tub.

I shoot vacation rentals for owners and the managers who run portfolios of them, around Massanutten Resort, McGaheysville, Luray and the wider Valley. I also host, so I have watched my own calendar move with better photographs.

Every Signature Launch includes a 60 to 90 second film for the listing page and a vertical reel for the feed. Slow, steady, and cut to let the place carry it.

Airbnb surfaces video on the listing now, and a reel is how a property manager fills a calendar from Instagram. Both come out of the same production day as the twilight session. This one is my own rental in Canaan Valley.

Questions

Why is rental photography priced separately from listings?

Because it is a different job. A listing documents a house for buyers. A rental has to win a thumbnail against forty others and then hold a guest through the whole gallery.

Do you shoot twilight?

Yes, on any tier, and it is included in the Signature Launch. A lit cabin against a blue sky is the cover frame daytime thumbnails cannot match.

How long does a rental shoot take?

Three to five hours on site depending on the property and whether twilight is included. Photos within 48 hours, video within 72.

Do you work with property managers?

Yes. Portfolios of several doors are priced differently from one-off shoots.
